Meet Coach Barton:
"Excited to join the Westwood High School family as the new Head Girls Basketball Coach and Special Education teacher! As I begin my 6th year in education, I’m passionate about helping students grow academically, athletically, and personally. I am a former Division I basketball player at Houston Christian University, where I earned my degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Wellness and Management. I look forward to investing in our students and being a part of the Warrior community! 🧡🤍🏀"

"Hi Warriors! My name is Savannah Garza. I am beginning my 13th year in education. I am from the Rio Grande valley. I studied Chemistry and Biology at the University of Texas Pan American. I also obtained my Masters a couple years ago. This summer was the first time I have moved in my life. I am married and have 3 kids. This year I will be teaching Chemistry. I am excited to be working here and I am also excited to meet you all."

This will be my 11th year in education, and I am honored to serve as the Head Baseball Coach, Assistant Football Coach, and a Business teacher at Westwood. I graduated from Concordia University Texas and am passionate about helping students grow both academically and personally. I believe in building strong relationships, fostering a positive learning environment, and encouraging students to strive for excellence in the classroom, on the field, and in life. My family and I are excited to be back in the Austin area and look forward to becoming part of the Warrior family. Go Warriors!"

Round Rock ISD students will need to take home their district-issued Chromebook over the summer. All students’ Classlink and Google accounts will remain available over the summer break.
If you are a graduating senior, please return your device and charger to your school’s ITS before graduation.
Students participating in the district-provided summer learning programs will need to bring their Chromebooks with them each day.

The Westwood Symphony Orchestra just took home 1st Runner-Up at the 2026 National Orchestra Cup held at Lincoln Center in New York City!
Wondering just how big of a deal this is? The Orchestra Cup is widely recognized as one of the most prestigious youth music competitions in the country. Ensembles are evaluated by panels of world-renowned conductors and professional musicians, and the qualifying standards are incredibly rigorous. Just being selected to compete is a massive honor—taking the podium as 1st Runner Up means our orchestra is officially recognized as one of the absolute best of the best! In addition to their collective ensemble honor, musicians Ella Kim & Imy Gao received individual Outstanding Soloist awards.
👏🏼 Bravo to our incredibly talented musicians and directors on this top tier achievement!

Ms. Kish wears many hats at Westwood: Algebra I and Algebra II teacher, PALS sponsor, and assistant coach for Cross Country and Lady Warriors Soccer. Ms. Kish is a highly impactful teacher with a passion for building students' confidence and success inside and outside of the classroom. She fosters a welcoming and encouraging classroom environment while holding students to a high standard. Ms. Kish is a difference-maker who positively impacts students across all areas of the Warrior community and we are so lucky to have her at Westwood!
