As things wind down in the academic year, our construction department is beginning to ramp up work across several campuses and facilities over the summer as the first major projects of the 2024 Bond program begin to break ground.
These projects are designed to enhance learning spaces, improve campus infrastructure, and support students and staff for years to come.
Construction is scheduled to begin on the following comprehensive projects:
Berkman ES, C.D. Fulkes Auditorium, CTE Center/Spectrum,
Forest North ES, Great Oaks ES, McNeil HS, Pearson Ranch MS,
Support Services (A.W. Grimes) and Westwood HS
Over the next several weeks, campuses and their communities will receive updates regarding construction timelines, anticipated impacts, and project milestones.
HIGHLIGHT: Bluebonnet ES
Interior renovations will refresh the front half of the building, including updated ceiling, wall, and floor finishes in classrooms, the cafeteria, library, administrative suite, and interior hallways. The same scope of work will be implemented in the back half of the building next summer to minimize disruptions to learning.

HIGHLIGHT: CTE Center/Spectrum
This project will create spaces to expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings, including programs in auto body, cosmetology, semiconductor, early childhood education, and electrical trades. It will also provide dedicated practice areas for robotics teams that are currently operating in undersized campus locations. A new Welcome Center will serve staff, families, and the community, while the expansion and relocation of The 18+ Program will better support students receiving special education services. With the remaining space, district administration offices will move from their current location at Round Rock High School, returning the 700 Building to campus use. The relocation will also free up the space currently occupied by the Lillie Delgado Administration Building, making way for the voter-approved expansion of RRHS, including additional parking.

HIGHLIGHT: Targeted Projects
In addition to major projects, district teams will complete a variety of targeted improvement projects across many campuses this summer. These include:
LED lighting upgrades for softball and baseball fields,
water bottle filler replacements, fire alarm improvements, marquee installations,
track resurfacing, roofing replacements and playground improvements.
We appreciate the continued support and flexibility of our students, staff, families and voters as these important projects move forward. Be on the lookout, as we will be sharing lots of construction-related updates this summer via district channels.
